Is StarrySnug safe for newborns?

Yes, StarrySnug is designed for newborns from day one. Always place your baby on their back to sleep, keep the face uncovered, and stop swaddling once your baby starts trying to roll over.

Can my baby move inside or will they feel “tied up”?

The wrap holds the arms gently across the chest to calm the startle reflex, but there is roomy space for the hips and legs. Baby can still bend and kick in a natural “froggy” position.

Will my baby get too hot in Indian weather?

StarrySnug uses light, breathable double layers. In warmer weather you keep only a thin onesie or vest inside; in cooler weather you add one more layer. If baby’s chest/neck feels sweaty, just remove a clothing layer or fold the hood back.

How long can we use it as the baby grows?

Most families use StarrySnug from newborn up to about 9 months, and sometimes closer to 12 months depending on baby’s length. As soon as your baby starts trying to roll over during sleep, you should stop swaddling and use it open as a simple cosy wrap.

StarrySnug is built mainly for the newborn to ~9 month phase, when startle reflex is strongest. In real homes, most babies use it comfortably till 6–9 months; very tall or chubbier babies may outgrow it a little earlier. A simple test: if you can still close both wings across the chest and baby’s legs can bend freely in the lower pouch, the size is fine – even if the toes touch the end.

It’s a double-layer plush + Sherpa swaddle, not a heavy rajai. The fabric traps a light layer of warmth but still lets air move. For summer / AC rooms, keep baby in a thin onesie or vest inside StarrySnug. For mild winter, add one extra cotton layer under the swaddle. Only in very cold North Indian nights would you need an extra blanket on top – and even then, used carefully and as per safe-sleep rules.

StarrySnug is made to handle regular machine washing. Use cold or mild-warm water, gentle cycle, and a mild detergent; avoid bleach and very hot drying. Colours are designed to stay bright and the fleece to stay soft; over many washes you may see a bit of natural fluffing, but not the “goes flat after one wash” problem you see in cheaper wraps. Most parents report it actually feels softer after the first couple of washes.
